01

One building can contain several roof types.

In De Pijp and the Rivierenbuurt, tiled slopes, flat areas and dormers can meet on the same building. Those transitions deserve attention when reporting a leak. Describe the room affected and what sits above it. Mention whether the problem follows particular rain conditions, which can help focus the assessment.

02

Compare more than the tiles.

A planned tiled roof renovation can involve ridges, gutters, underlay and chimney junctions. Flat sections bring drainage into the scope too. Ask for each of these items to be identifiable in the proposal. A lower total may reflect a narrower scope rather than a better price for the same work.

03

For residents and owners’ association boards.

A VvE board may have a maintenance plan or recent report; an individual resident may only have a photograph of a damp patch. Tell us your role and share what is available. Work on a communal roof requires clear authorisation and access arrangements. Visits within the municipality of Amsterdam are agreed individually.
